DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a very nice vintage Montgomery Wards Master Quality Broad Hatchet Ax. There is some light age patina on the ax head, but it is really in excellent condition, in my opinion. I believe the edge on the head is original. When I look at the front edge and then the back side I do not see any signs of sharpening. The handle I also believe is original. If the handle was added at any point in time, there is no signs on the top that it was cut and shaped after th...e head being put on. The head width from hammer end to blade tip is approximately 6-1/4". The edge of the blade from tip to tip is 4-7/8". The overall weight with handle is approximately 3 lbs. The hammer end of the head is in excellent condition ~ it has not been used to drive railroad spikes. Please look at all the photos as they do offer a nice visual description of condition.
