Up for auction is a beautiful vellum illuminated medieval manuscript Book of Hours leaf in Latin, attractive gothic script, France, circa 1400 (possibly late 14th century). Along with a gold bar border and extending decoration on each side, there are several burnished gold initials and line-fillers w/ different design patters using white tracery. The highlight is the charming dragon miniature with outstretched wings at the top of the verso. This impressive Hours leaf... is in very good condition (the small hole seen near the middle is original to the vellum). It measures approx. 7 1/4 x 5 inches.
