People named in the agreement are: William Wormeley of Cleisley?? in the County of York, Gent and Dorothy his wife Robert Wormeley, son and heir apparent of William Wormeley John Lister of Linton in the County of York, Esq Thomas Lister of the Inner Temple London, Esq.
Relates to the bargain and sale of a Close of meadow or pasture ground called Hallikell Well Close containing 24 acres in the Parish of Hurworth upon Tees in the County Palatine of Durham and a 10 acre close called Bromley Close in the tenure or occupation of Jane Place, Widow.
The second document is signed and sealed by William and Robert Wormeley. One side is written in English and the other side in Latin. Signed by 5 witnesses.
Condition Contents complete. No holes or tears. Good clean condition for a document of this age. Ink clear and free of fading. Retains all 3 original vellum tabs. Retains 2 wax seals (one is broken). The third seal is lacking. The second document is in good clean condition.
