A well made pair of Arts & Crafts style square copper tea caddies. They have brass knobs on the lids and the copper panels are beautifully joined to the wooden boxes with small brass nails. The sides are hammered and the front of the caddies bear shield shaped crests, possibly relating to Cornwall with the stylised fleur de lys and fifteen bezants. There are also three garbes (wheat sheaves) and diagonal lines described as ...party per bend, with nine bends (lines). The shield is quartered with a triple parted cross.
The interiors are lined with steel.
Date: Early to mid 20th century
Condition: Good condition, although one of the interior steel linings has some old rust. The copper patina feet are replacements.
