Vintage 110+ year old pre Griswold "ERIE" cast iron skillet in restored condition. The cooking surface has small pin size pits from corrosion and hints of utensil scores. Both are nearly undetectable and you glide your fingers over a very smooth surface. This is a solid candidate for a collector or a daily user. Two sheets of printer paper stops movement on a granite surface. There are no chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.
This item was stripped down using collector ap...proved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process insures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Two rounds of seasoning at 450 degrees with Crisco for several hours. This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item will take on a brown color. Item is much darker under normal light. Photos are part of the items description.
