This is an original antique Victorian Berlin Woolwork with scrolling floral pattern of roses, primulas, buddleia & leaves. Hand embroidered in wool with many silk highlights
The panel is wide & very long, has retained it's lovely colour very well, hardly faded.The background is mat olive green. The background shows some ageing, see condition below
My photos do not do justice to this item, much nicer in reality, the wool is soft to touch, the edges are straight, it makes q...uite a statement.
Measurements
Whole Panel : 17" x 42" ( 44 x 108 cm)
Condition :The floral pattern is perfect but there are approx seven tiny places where a few stitches are missing & two tiny holes to the green background.
In the centre of the background there are some darker marks, possiblya stain, or wear, please see photos.
