Vintage France Tapestry Wall Hanging Antique 19th Century ? Rare French art .. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Mary mother and child. Very old . I believe it is hand weave, if you look at the pictures of the back, you will see a few imperfections, which make me think it is hand woven. I burned a thread, it smelled like burnt hair, when you rub the weaving it gets warm and it has a sheen. I believe it is silk. When I bought the picture it was in a wrong size frame. Much to small, so it... was folded over. Picture 4 shows the slight fading.Picture 3 shows a variation in the color. Very small, is not a stain, I think it’s just a variation in the dye. One picture shows pin drop size of paint( which I did not try to clean) it’s a beautiful tapestry in wonderful condition.
