Up for auction I have a beautiful Est.1880-1930 HORSE HAIR HIDE BUGGY/ SLEIGH Lap BLANKET/ ROBE by Cownie Tanning 55" x 65" (this dating was hand written on a piece of paper). At first when purchased, I thought it had a small area where the hair was worn off, but looking at it more carefully there is white hair leading me to believe that this horse had a white or blond belly (see my first and second photo). While looking over this piece, I found a small repaired area measuring about 1 ...1/2" long (see my last 2 photos). This was very hard to see when just looking at the hide. This is a gorgeous collectors blanket. Very hard to come by and even harder to find in this condition. Look over my photos as they are part of my description and email me if you have any questions.
