Antique handmade Italian linen and lace bed cover. Apx 102" X 94" overa...ll, including Maltese lace trim (apx 3 1/2" wide) on 3 sides. The centerpiece area is apx 48" X 22" (including a 17" X 14" oval female portrait). There are also embellished areas at the top (pillow), bottom, and sides ~ embroidery, cutwork, ladderwork, and handmade Point de Venise and Maltese Lace inserts. From a Newport, R.I. estate, acquired with a wonderful trousseau of mostly Italian linens. Offered as found ~ please note there is a small area of soiling, and a few tiny spots (see close-ups); otherwise very good condition ~ carefully preserved for generations.
