Pair Antique Chinese Silk Embroidery Long Panel Forbidden Stitch Floral

i bought this itemin China in 1980. The embroidery is almost entirely stitched with seed stitches and some satin stitch leaves. Gold thread stitches enhance the flowers and leaves. The panels are 36" x 3". The panel on your right is on gold silk, the left one is a cream (I think). I have shown the reverse sides folded. in half There are no tears, repairs or missing stitches. I do not know the purpose of these panels.
