Nice solid original sling for a wartime K98k German Mauser rifle. Very nicely maker marked and waffenampted. I can’t quite make out the makers name, but the bottom line can clearly be made out, which says “Wein 101 1940”. The outer face is fairly worn, but only superficially. The leather is still quite supple and there are no deep cracks or dry spots. Most of the crosshatching pattern is worn but it is still visible in some area. The leather pad on the buckle has come off over ti...me, so I added a small piece of leather from an old ww2 German leather belt to the inside where the pad should be, to protect the wooded stock of the rifle from being damaged from the metal buckle. The keeper included is an early example with a brass button. Overall a decent original wartime manufactured German sling for the Mauser K98k rifle that can still be used today.
