This is an adorable antique cross stitch sampler, showing letters, numbers, birds, a Holy Cross, a flower vase and hearts.
It is stitched with multi colored cotton thread on linen cloth. The sampler is signed 'Philomaina Beurns' It is Belgian and dates from 1850. It measures approximately 11 1/2 x 7 1/4 inches or 29 x 18.5 cm. The sampler is in good condition, considering its age The cloth is discolored in some places.
