Original Description:
This is a nice example of an African Mangbetu Trumbasch Knife Ax that dates from the late 19th to early 20th Century. It is mounted with a sickle type blade that measures 9 1/2 inches in length by 6 inches at the widest. The blade reflects good honest wear but does remain in nice condition. It wears a hard wood handle that although has some age hairline cracks, does remain sturdy and is very nicely accentuated with light colored bone inserts and a light colored bone ferrule. Overall me...asuring 13 3/4 inches tall.
