Up for auction is this large glass dome shade for an oil lamp. This one varies in diameter from 13&5/8ths at the least to 14 inches at the widest point, 9 inches overall height and just over 3&1/2 inches diameter at the narrowest point inside the 'neck'.Inside is white glass to reflect as much light down into the room as possible. The outside is a light blue-green, somewhere between light blue and 'celadon'. an unusual colour. Pictures are accurate for colour... when viewed on my screen.Bottom rim is fire polished smooth. Top rim is cut and ground and has the usual flaked edge as it was made . There are NO cracks, chips , burst bubbles or nasty stains . glass has the usual streaks and spots of colour in the mix as you expect in old, hand made glass.
