This is an early 20th century miniature wooden upholstered curved back chair. I was told that this is a Salesman Sample by an appraiser at Rago Gallery in Lambertville, NJ. They are frequently featured on "Antiques Roadshow" as experts in different areas. It definitely has incredible detail which a salesman would want to emphasize. The solid wooden structure, the beautifully carved wooden ornamentation across the top and on the front legs. There is a 1/4" chip in wood on front of... left leg, made much less noticeable when I was cleaning. Will leave this to buyer to address either with matching touchup wood pen or oiling. The padded upholstery fabric shows minimal signs of age, and there is no odor of smoke or anything else. When you pull back the muslin underneath, the padding and support straps have been replaced. This could also be used with antique dolls and it would be perfect for a current doll collector to use when displaying their treasures.
Dimensions - 14” wide at base, 15" wide sides, 18” tall at its highest point, approximately 7” to the top of the seat cushion, 12” deep. Seat width 10" front, tapering to 7" rear
