Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of vivianite after a fossil bivalve "clam" from Russia!!! This specimen consists of a large, partial fossil bivalve shell that has been replaced by very dark bluish-black vivianite in characteristic limonitic matrix!!! The geode-like cavity hosts a showy di...splay of vivianite crystals present as sprays of bladed crystals!!! In person the crystals show marked luster and some highlights of dark bluish color at the tips and edges!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and displays magnificently in person!!! This specimen is from the collection of Wouter Van Tichelen and retains its original label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
