Nice and classic Linhof metal tripod with geared column Here is a Nice and classic Linhof metal tripod with geared column for your consideration.The tripod is in solid, excellent condition and in good working condition.There is some wear but, not bad. The metal has no bends or dents and the column goes up and down smoothly having a side lever "brake" that holds the column in place without slipping down.It has some heft to it. It weighs about 8.2 lbs. by itself. The metal leg...s have a hard rubber or plastic covering and there are some black stains on one side as seen. The tips of the legs are spiked but, you rotate the rubber knob and, they move out to cover them and to be able to have a softer surface to place it down on. One of these rubber knobs is loose so, it need to be super glued or something so, that it will unscrew and cover the spike. Not a biggie. The leatherette type covering on the very top where you would mount the head is in very good condition. It goes up to about 69 inches when fully extended having the legs not so spread out.It is probably made for the most part of aluminum but, the center column attracts a magnet so, that is steel or iron. It does no include a headA great vintage tripod without a doubt!!!This can also be picked up in Burlington, MA after work hours, 4 days a week or, Jamaica Plain, MA after work on Tuesdays or, in Hanover, MA by arrangement or, at the parking lot of Barnes and Nobles in Braintree.
