Marked "Trifari" and "Pat Pend" (for patent pending), this Lucite Jelly Belly has pavé rhinestones and enamel coloring in the form of an Airedale dog. It was designed by Alfred Philippe for Trifari and received patent number 131785 in 1942, and was made before wartime restrictions required Trifari to use sterling silver. It is illustrated in Brunialti "American Costume Jewelry" Vol 2 page 179.
The Lucite is clear with no scratches, crazing or discoloring. All stones are bright, pre...sent and undamaged (see photos). The enamel coloring is in very good condition and the pin is firm. Size 2.2 wide x 2.5 high inches (5, 6 x 6, 4 cm).
