For sale is a circa 1910 hand tied 100% wool Chinese blue and white Peking area rug with an ivory ground and a central medallion of birds on branches and in flight under a cloudy blue sky.
The central rectangle having a bird figure in each corner spandrel surrounded by a blue bordered outer band filled with floral and bird patterns.
The selvage in good condition, missing edge fringes.The pile is worn and low to much of the center area of the rug (see pics). Good pile along the o...uter sections. It’s dirty having come right off of an estate floor. Needs a good cleaning. Age appropriate wear for an old rug.
