You're bidding on a cool, antique electric lamp base - 22 1/2" tall, 7 3/4" diameter at bottom, and heavy at 10 lbs - it's non-ferrous, so I'm guessing it to bronze based on the weight and solid construction. Nicely casted with a kind of classic, Art Nouveau period acanthus leaf type design motif. I'm guessing circa 1920s or earlier vintage. Definitely high quality construction, but no manufacturer's marks or labels that I can find. The type of base designed for a large slag glass or T...iffany style stained glass type shade.
NOTE - base has condition issues, and is in a "needs restoration" condition. It's wired through, but no plug, and the cord external to the lamp is deteriorating, so needs re-wiring. It has two bulb fixtures, but one is missing its pull chain and neither are tested. Shade cap & screw are missing. Base does have some wear/scuff/soil, but does retain a nice aged patina and would probably clean up nicely. SOLD AS IS AS FOUND.
