A Victorian era antique Charles Parker Glass Ball and ClawFoot Piano Stool high back piano stool circa 1875-1895. The Charles Parker Company was founded in 1832 in Meriden, Connecticut and was known for manufacturing top-quality products sold all overthe world. The stunning elegant Victorian piano stool features a highback with beautifully ribbed stiles supported by round slats and a circularspinning seat which works smoothly. The top of the back has applied leafcarving which is missin...g a chip but is crowned with three original ball finialsin the center. The seat has a split which has been solidly glued. It sportsrivet beading around the edge (There is a section of seven beads missing). Themetal spin bracket assembly that attaches to the underside of the seat ismarked “THE CHAS PARKER CO. MERIDEN, CT.” Beautiful turned spindle stretcherssecure the splayed legs to the carved, ribbed urn and spool center pedestal. Oneleg has an old repair (see photo 7), but all are sturdy and the stool stands firm and strong.The legs culminate in bronzed claw feet that incorporate gargoyle faces clutchingglass balls (There is some chipping to the glass balls).This fabulous stool is a true work of art from thenineteenth century.
