Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of purple fluorapatite from this famed Maine locale!!! The purple fluorapatite crystals from the Pulsifer Quarry are highly sought after and prized by collectors and - with such amazing purple color - it is ...easy to understand why!!! This specimen hosts a complex, gemmy crystal of fluorapatite that is prominently perched on a cookeite matrix in association with some unusually deep purplish lepidolite at the core!!! The main fluorapatite crystal measures approximately 2cm and is purched in an elongated cast of cookeite after tourmaline!!! The fluorapatite crystal exhibits sharp, glassy faces with fine gem clarity and gorgeous purple color!!! In addition to the main crystal there are several other complex crystals scattered about the specimen as well!!! This specimen retains an old, enamel label affixed on the underside as well!!! Despite some damage, this specimen is still a very fine and impressive example of this famed, highly sought after material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
