Description/Interesting Notes: A very rare example of finely crystallized ajoite from this famed Mexican locale!!! This is one of just two such specimens that I am aware of from Milpillas!!! This specimen was acquired from Marshall Sussman who informed me that the other specimen (they were both part of the same larger mass) is in the col...lection of a noted collector of Mexican minerals (the material was analyzed and confirmed to be ajoite)!!! The crystals are present as fine, turquoise colored acicular crystals on matrix!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope there appears to be another, unidentified species present as well - present as tiny, lighter blue balls intergrown among the ajoite crystals!!! There are some ajoite crystals that exhibit partial alteration to chrysocolla and a tiny bit of an unidentified lime green, microcrystalline mineral visible on the side and reverse as well!!! This is a very rare and unusual specimen from Milpillas - don't miss out, you may never see another one!!! An amazing example of crystalline ajoite!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
