This set of 4 matched hand carved & painted horses is in remarkably good condition, none of the legs or ears have been nicked or broken. The hand cut leather straps which are held in place by tiny tacks or nails are intact, complete, not stiff. Each horse is painted in its original brown with some tan paint on the left side indicating mane, some spots, and tails. The measure approx 2 3/4" L x 3" H x 1" W. I suspect these are pre WWII, or if later the 1940's.... The are naive folk art with some sophistication suggesting they were made by an adult.
