A wonderful antique Tea caddy Box of casket form. The timber appears to be a mahogany or rosewood Veneer. The veneer survives very nicely as shownInside the caddy features two lidded and (once foil lined) sections for black and green tea, The middle held the porcelain mixing bowl in a card lined cavity as shown.Note the box lid shuts fine and level however the lid is simply off its hinges and simply needs screws or tacks to restore. Note inside the box are 3 flat button like feet that... sat under the box. Id simply restore these (with two at front) and replace the fourth with something a similar thickness or fashion a matching one from a wooden button? A missing key escutcheon to front.No other issues other than the foil peeling from inside the tea compartments!A beautiful large caddy potentially late Georgian, if not then early Victorian ca 1850s?
