For sale, a BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE DRUG STORE PRODUCT ADVERTISING "MEASURING SPOON" (LIKE A "DOSE GLASS", ONCE GIVEN OUT IN A PHARMACY, WHICH ADVERTISES FOR "PHILLIPS MILK OF MAGNESIA".....A PRODUCT WHICH GOES BACK TO 1873.BELIEVE THIS ANTIQUE ADVERTISING "MEDICINE MEASURING SPOON (SIMILAR TO DOSE GLASS IN FUNCTION) IS EARLY.....IT HAS CRISP EMBOSSING, AND IS CLEAR COLORED, BUT HAS THE AGE, WOULD TURN PURPLETHIS ANTIQUE DRUGGIST "MEASURING SPOON" comes out of a lifetime collection of ...Iowa dose glasses...IT WAS DISPLAYED WITH "DOSE GLASSES" , and the original owner collected dose glasses from all over the United States and Iowa..here is a stunning representative from"PHILLIPS MILK OF MAGNESIA" in that collectionPHILLIPS "MILK OF MAGNESIA" GOES WAY BACK TO 1873, INVENTED BY "CHARLES H. PHILLIPS"...AFTER HE DIED IN 1882, HIS 4 SONS INCORPORATED THE "CHAS PHILLIPS CHEMICAL CO" AROUND 1885.....AND I THINK THIS PRODUCT IS STILL BEING SOLD...BELIEVE THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ADVERTISING SPOON GIVEN AWAY BY A PHARMACY OR DRUG STORE THAT CARRIED AND SOLD THIS PRODUCTTHIS "MEDICINE MEASURING SPOON" (SIMILAR TO A DOSE GLASS) DISPLAYS WONDERFULLY, EMBOSSING IS CRISP & NICE, ..DISPLAYS WELL, NICE COLOR, VERY SHARP PC...WOULD TURN PURPLE, HAS GOOD AGE...SAYS THE WORDS "TABLE...DESSERT....TEA" ON SIDES, JUST LIKE MOST "DOSE GLASSES"This glass advertising spoon is what I would call a light sun purpled to clear colored glass, it stands about 1" tall x 4" long ...and it is a very nice specimen, ..THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN, took pictures from all angles and in different lighting conditions to show glass, ...Has the age and would likely turn darker purple if left in sunGallery pictures should show you all you need to know, took pictures from many angles.
