Description/Interesting Notes: A unique and unusual example of willemite from Franklin!!! This specimen exhibits several different veins and presentations of willemite in addition to several other species!!! One end of the specimen hosts a fine grained, darkl...y colored mineral intergrown with prismatic willemite crystals!!! The willemite exhibits intense green fluorescence under SW UV, however there are a few bands that also exhibit green fluorescence under LW UV!!! It is difficult to discern in the pics, however there are numerous small grains of reddish fluorescence (Mn-axinite?) as well as some tiny areas of peachy-orange (clinohedrite)!!! Upon close study in person there are clearly a surprising number of different species present including some purplish-pink hodgkinsonite, Mn-axinite, clinohedrite, franklinite, andradite, and more!!! There is a lot going on with this specimen and it is fascinating upon close inspection in person!!! This specimen is from the collection of George Elling and retains an old John S. Albanese label noting it as a "Study Specimen - vein material"!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
