Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of rose quartz from this unique Brazilian locale!!! This specimen is simply gorgeous in person and way better than the pics show!!! The color is a CHOICE deep pink, the crystals are sharp and glassy with marked translucence!!! The crystals are arranged in a gorgeous, rosette-like form ...that shows numerous generations of deep pink rose quartz visible on the reverse!!! The outermost edges of the specimen exhibit some microcrystalline and chalcedony-like features, which impart a slightly lighter coloration and halo-like effect!!! From the reverse one can see that the rose quartz formed over a single quartz crystal (that is actually partially doubly terminated as well) and the rosette-like cluster actually has a slightly hexagonal outline!!! When backlit one can see the hexagonal features within the specimen as well!!! This specimen came out of an older high-end collection and was part of group of unique and exceptional rose quartz specimens!!! Very showy and attractive in person - simply an outstanding example of rose quartz!!!The pics hardly do it justice!!!
