Antique Sandwich Glass "Ribbed Ivy" Clear Glass Cordial Decanter, The Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., c. 1840 - 1870. This beautiful clear glass cordial decanter, is a wonderful example of Antique Sandwich glass. The "Ribbed Ivy" pattern is very delicate and attractive, especially in this smaller sized decanter. What makes this little decanter so special is the tulip shaped stopper which was difficult to manufacture and few survive regular use. There is a polished pontil at the base. This co...rdial decanter is listed in "A Guide To Sandwich Glass Pressed Tableware", by Barlow and Kaiser, #1218, where a cordial decanter is valued at $275. This same cordial decanter was valued at $650 with the tulip stopper in EAPG by Reilly!

SIZE: The decanter is 7 13/16" H. (top of stopper), 6" H. (top of decanter) x 1 1/4" Dia. at the top and 1 15/16" Dia. at the base.
CONDITION: The condition is very good with minimal wear to the rim and to the underside of the base. Some imperfections and imperfections in the glass. Even the rare tulip stopper is in very good condition.
