Good evening! Thanks. This auction is for a very good BAILEY No. 3 SMOOTH PLANE: Rosewood knob and handle in excellent and clean condition, japanned iron body and frog, bright cap, steel blade and chipbreaker in stained but excellent condition. Another plane gathered for use in the 1970's, long after it was manufactured. Cleaned and stored around 1984 and not used since.Iron body is clean and rust-free, but well stained with some pitting, missing about 30% of its... original finish. The cap is clean and unchipped, with some minor tool marks, but clean and tight. The blade is stamped "Stanley, Pat. Apl. 1992". Neither the body, frog, nor the cap are chipped or cracked, all are whole and ready to use!The blade and chipbreaker are lightly stained but recoverable on the both sides. The body is stained and shows some pitting and wear marks, but is perfectly useable! Body casting shows "PAT'D MAR.25.02, AUG.19.02, APR.19.10"Shipping box is 12 1/4" X 4 1/2" X 10 14", and the weight is 4 lbs 3 oz.The tools I'm listing this time around are all packaged and ready to ship, but I can combine shipping costs and save some money if you buy more than one tool... please wait for my corrected invoice!I use PayPal, and expect prompt payment.
