The center of the pin has the blue and goldtone enamel Gulf logo on an orange background. In a blue enamel circle around the logo in goldtone lettering it reads, "Merit Award - Spring Motor Oil Sales - 1939." The edges are finished in an decorative goldtone design.
The back has a stem pin with a latch closure.
The award pin measures 1..." x 1" and is in lovely condition with only the expected surface marks from age and drawer storage.
