The mahogany case has a beautiful pantina to it which is in great condition for age, it has its double hinged case which has a glazed panel to the second lid and the top lid protects the glazed lid underneath. On each sie of the case their is a solid heavy duty brass carry handleThe Clock Measures - 6.75 inches high x 7 inches wide x 7 inches deepDialThe clock has a 3.75 inch silvered diameter dial which has engraved roman numerals. The dial has 2 sub dials one for the sub seconds and the other for the power reserve, the dial is in good condition for age and is signed by the maker John Fletcher maker to the Admiralty of London which dates the clock to circa 1870MovementThe movement is a high quality English 2 day duration single fusee chain driven chronometer movement which has its original compensated Earnshaw helical spring detent escapement with maintaining power and bi-metallic compensated balanceThe movement is in working order but is running fast as it seems to be missing its impulse lever/spring which helps keep the oscillating action. This is a rare antique English marine shipping chronometer clock by a well known clock maker John Fletcher of London who was the clock maker to the Admiralty.
