A HARD TO FIND example, this adorable and dapper young gent was created by Violet Lee Gradwohl, founder of the Terri Lee doll Company (1946-1962) as a companion to the Terri Lee doll, and wears his TAGGED original variation of the "SUNDAY SUIT" outfit-----he is a CHARMER!
Measuring 16" tall, the doll is made... of HARD PLASTIC and is strung and jointed at the neck, upper arms and legs, and has his original and full blonde CARACUL WIG! His head is also made of hard plastic and he has brown PAINTED EYES and magenta colored lips, with cute little dimples on both sides of his cheeks! He has his original chubby child's body that is adored by collectors, and is marked on the back in raised letters "TERRI LEE"!
He wears his FACTORY ORIGINAL outfit consisting of a long sleeved textured heavy cotton jacket in yellow, amber, olive green, black and white vertical stripes with buttons down the front, olive green shorts that snap on the sides, and a silky cotton or rayon short sleeved shirt with Peter Pan collar and buttons down the front! He also has his WHITE SOCKS and colorful yellow OILCLOTH SHOES that tie, which we believe both are original to him; we think he may have hat a cap at one point but probably long lost! Both the inside collars of the jacket and blouse have their original blue and white tags marked "TERRI LEE"!
With minimal age wear for being well over 60 years old, his body has a couple of very faint marks but not at all distracting and overall appears in EXCELLENT CONDITION with tight stringing so that he will hold a pose! With the exception of some light staining on the collar of his shirt, his outfit is also in good original condition and appears to never have been laundered.
