Antique Late 19th Century French Rococo Gilt Wall Clock (Pendulum Key Numerals)
Item History & Price
This is an Antique Late 19th Century French Rococo Gilt Wall Clock. This clock is in excellent condition and is in full working order. It is absolutely stunning. It has a rococo shaping to it, with scrolls and floral shapes in the design. The clock has a white enamel face with black roman numerals and hands. There is one winding hole above the numeral VI. Around the face is a beading detail, which is an attractive feature.... The clock was originally a mantel clock, which stood on five, scroll feet. It has had a plinth added to it at a later date, to make it suitable to wall mount. The plinth looks to be made from cast plaster, with a complimentary shaping to the rococo style. It has been gilt painted all over so that the colour matches. The clock is made from metal. It has acquired a patina through time, which accentuates the appearance of the clock. At the back of the piece, there are holes to use for wall mounting. I have added foam pads to the back of the plinth to assist the balance of the clock. This clock comes complete with it's key and pendulum.
