In addition, they reflecton attending Thomas Edison’s 82nd birthday in Fort Myers, Florida on February11, 1929 (the letter is accompanied with a photograph of Hoover, Henry Ford, Edison, and Harvey Firestone at the birthday event). President and First Lady Hoover also endorse Thomas Edison’s recentscholarship contest that included Edison, Henry Ford, Charles Lindbergh, andGeorge Eastman as judges.“WE ARE SO SAD THAT YOU AND MR.
