For bid is an original February 26, 1901 half-sheet TLS note written to a young girl who wrote to the Vice President requesting an autograph. The letter is typed as follows: "Oyster Bay, L. I., February 26, 1901. / My Dear Little Friend:- I thank you for writing me. I liked your letter so much, that I shall break through my rule and send you my photograph. / Your friend, T. Roosevelt (signed)."... Sent to Miss Josie Rena Black, Devine, Colorado. Included with VP Roosevelt's sheet is the original mailing envelope addressed to the young lady. Government envelope with red embossed postage (George Washington). Signed by Teddy Roosevelt as Vice President under 7 months before President William McKinley was assassinated at the Buffalo World's Fair.
