ANTIQUE. French, Paris, Clock. By Charles Frodsham
Item History & Price
For Auction is a Paris made , French , mantel clock in a black , marble case.It stands 10.75 inches high x 10.5 inches wide at the base.It has a nice interesting movement which is running well, with an attractive 5 inch signed dial , Charles Frodsham , with 6 inch bezel..The clock strikes the Hours & half hours on a bell . .It is probably an 8 day clock as it has been running for several days but the strike needs to be wound about every 3 or 4 days so ...it could probably do with a clean. The movement has a serial number .2080 . marked on the back plate & a Paris exhibition trade mark.with signed Charles Frodsham .The matching , very large & heavy pendulum also has the same ser. no. 2080. The case is in good condition & doesn't seem to be suffering with the usual blooming .There are a couple of chips on the left side base . [please see pictures] Although the clock is working fine here it would probably get shaken about on a journey & would need setting up by a competent person upon arrival . So please be prepared for this . it will of course be well packed .The clock is very heavy 10 kg before packing . postage is for mainland UK or The Global Shipping centre only.Highlands & Islands may be more .Please get in touch within three days of auction end .Thanks for looking.
