Antique American Ansonia Bracket Clock, Circa 1880This is an antique American carved striking bracket clock by the well-known clock makers Ansonia of New York. The case is made of solid oak and has some quality hand carved decorations over the face of the case, the oak has a superb age patina, it has an architectural design to the case with a hinged back door (centre pieces has been crudely repaired)with latch and a brass glazed bezel front door to protect the dial, th...e clock has superb proportions and displays beautifully. Original porcelain ring dial with Roman numerals and original hands also benefits from a embossed brass mount to the centre, the dial is in great condition protected by its glazed brass bezel
This clock has an 8-day American gong striking movement which strikes on the half past and on the hours, the movement is in full working order (the pendulum will need setting up to the correct length when delivered) and is signed on the back by the maker Ansonia of New York.
This item is in OK condition for its age, please view many photos provided for complete condition report. Please be happy with the condition before purchasing - I think the clock is in a nice condition.
