He has interviewed his C.O. and beenapproved and recommended for an O.C.T.V.. 3. He plays cricket for the battalion. 4. He is on the Educational Committee in the battalion. He also plays golf occasionally with alance-corporal”. When World War II brokeout, Christopher Robin left his studies and tried to join the army, but failedthe medical examination. His father usedhis influence to get him a position with the second training battalion of theRoyal Engineers. He received hiscommission in July 1942 and was posted to the Middle East and Italy. While serving abroad, he began to resent whathe saw as his father’s exploitation of his childhood and came to hate theWinnie the Pooh books that had thrust him into the public eye.“NO. 1948450…IS IN A TRAINING BATTALION(RE) AT NEWARK. In addition, the letter hasbeen beautifully matted and framed with a reproduction photograph (of Milne andhis son Christopher Robin) to an overall size of 17” by 14” and under UVglass. The letter also has beenauthenticated by and is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity from RRAuction, the leading autograph auction house in the world.
