34 Star Flag Civil War Billhead 1865.Civil War. Merchants Bill Head A. H. Franciscus and Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This rare Bill Head features a red white and blue American flag of 34 Stars across the background behind the merchants information. Size: 4 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches long. Condition is very good as it was stored carefully in an album for the last 150 years. See photos of front and back for details.
The Franciscus flag Bill Head was considered so un...usual that the United States Postal Service included a photograph of one in its 2003 stamp Prestige booklet honoring Old Glory.
