Original Description:
5 Civil War Federal Navy Buttons ELE & Co London circa 1860's. Condition is Used. Buttons are back marked ELE & Co London. I believe that these are Civil War buttons. I used Ridgeway Civil War Research Center for reference. ELE and Co was probably an English outfitter, they think the buttons were likely made by D. Evans. At Ridgeway it is B5272 Federal Navy, Eagle over horizontal anchor, Fluke touches the wing. Using another reference Tice dating buttons page 151, it is labeled... Button 9901 with back mark of ELE 100. 4 large buttons at 22mm and one small one at 11mm. Please see pictures. I am not a expert on buttons, but I believe this information is correct. If you are a Civil War buff, these would be a nice addition to your collection.
