Up for auction is a stunning antique dark blue transferware plate manufactured in Staffordshire, England during the early 1800s. The plate is from the Picturesque Scenery Series and it features a naturalistic scene of Cashiobury, Hertfordshire in England. Overall it measures approximately 7 1/4" in diameter.
The overall condition of the plate is excellent. It is extremely clean and has no chips, cracks, or repairs with the exception of two tiny fleabites to the rim. &nbs...p;The white earthenware is still very bright and the blue color is deep with nice contrast. The glaze is glossy with no crazing and there are light scratches on the surface. The plate displays extremely well and would be a nice addition to any collection or home!
