Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Mr./Otto de Groott/with sincere/affection/Lili Kraus". B/w, 6x8. Hungarian-born pianist Lili Kraus (1903-1986) was best known for her performances of Mozart and Beethoven. On a world tour in 1...942, she was captured in Java and interned by the Japanese until the end of World War II. Moving to New Zealand and then in 1952 to the United States, she became Artist in Residence at Texas Christian U. In the 1950s, with violinist Henri Temianka, she recorded the entire Beethoven sonata cycle. Corners lightly creased and worn. Top left corner lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.

Return Policy: If any substantial defect not described in the item listing is found by the purchaser, the item(s) must be returned within 3 days of receipt. Item(s) may not be returned except for reasons of authenticity or substantial defect in description. We warrant to the original purchaser for a period of ten (10) years from the date of the sale the authenticity of any autograph offered by HistoryForSale.
