Very Unusual Antique 1914 Dietz D-Lite Kerosene Oil LampDESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....antique Dietz D-Lite 1914 lantern. Don't know too much about these things.It was in my grandmother's attic when we cleaned out her house. Measures 13 1/2" tall not counting the handle; 6 1/2" diameter at the bottom. Appears complete. Has nice glasschimney still with it. Connected to a latch that raises it to enable lighting. Wire matrix around glass to protect it from impact and breakage. Has ven...t at top, and base is the tank for kerosene. Little screw cap opening to enable filling. Has the usual knob on the burning element to adjustthe "wick" and flame height up and down.The glass has name and address of manufacturer (Dietz, NY) and patent information (March 10, 1914) impressed into the glass chimney. Also has formed "ribs" on each side of the chimney to facilitate lifting it up. Glass has a tiny hole in it as shown. Looks too small for a bullet hole; but something else would have done more damage?? Was put it in one purpose during manufacture? Condition of the entire lamp and all parts is very good overall with even dark finish. Very well made. DISPLAYS VERY WELL!! Sold as an antique display/decoration/collection piece, but appears fullyfunctional if desired.Very nice eye appeal and very nice with the manufacturer and date. 105 YEARS OLD!!PLEASE SEE ATTACHEDPHOTOS!!!Please see my auction list for other interesting items!!
