Original Description:
A nice original Civil War leather cartridge box for pistols. Measuring about 6” x 4 1/4”, the box features an excellent US plate (41mm x 71mm). The leather is soft, allowing the flap to move easily. The leather closure is intact and fits nicely around the brass finial. The two leather belt loops on the reverse are intact. Surface crazing in the leather’s finish throughout, as well as some loss of the black finish, revealing a natural deep brown color underneath. The flap has two ...inspector marks visible on the far left and far right of the closeup image. Very good condition.
