Antique American Civil War Union solder carte de visite. Identified in ink on front of Carte de visite C.P. Lord 1st Lt 8th Maine Vols. Historical record shows Charles P. Lord as a member of Company C of the 6th Massachusetts Volunteers, Minute Man unit involved in the Baltimore Riot. Mustered 15 April 1861 & Mustered out 2 August 1861. Following this service Charles mustered in the 8th Maine Volunteers Augusta Maine 7 September 1861. Cdv marked on reverse with Sam A. Cooley Beaufo...rt SC. Sam Cooley was noted Civil War photographer & became official photographer United States Department of the South.  Image sold in as is condition with some staining, trimmed margin.
