Greetings from Redfeatherlodge!  We are estate buyers and sellers that specialize in vintage clothing and textiles.  Our collection includes everything from antique linens to present-day attire and accessories.  Nothing new....all gently-used and in excellent condition.  We are happy to refund when needed.....we sell without reserve at very reasonable prices.  Great merchandise for both collectors and re-sellers -- GUARANTEED to please!  And since we can ...all use a deal these days, all items are shipped FREE within the U.S. ONLY by USPS priority mail.  All international sales will be shipped by eBay's global shipping program ONLY!  Please email any questions, and HAPPY BIDDING!For your consideration, this TRUE antique 1800s Civil War-era FOLK-ART quilt in an OLD RARE pattern called Prairie Starflower or Triple Missouri Daisy -- highly VISUAL, in VIVID colors of cheddar, turkey red, and poison green (which has turned a faded TAN over the years) -- constructed of old 100% cotton fabrics, all solid colors and some of which may be homespun and/or home-dyed -- what was once green definitely looks home-dyed, as the color has migrated, and changed to TAN over the years -- this quilt has been folded in two, sewn around three edges, and a rod-pocket added for hanging purposes.....all done in whip-stitched red thread which will be very easy to remove (not machine sewn) -- it currently measures 41" x 64", if you take it apart around the edges it will measure 64" x 82" and you might have a hidden TREASURE on your hands -- at this point, we don't know what the backing was made of but I would bet it is the same thin solid creamy cotton used on the front side -- little or no batting -- if it's there, it is VERY, VERY thinly batted with old 100% hand-combed cotton -- the quilt is totally hand-pieced and hand-quilted in generous TINY grid quilting following the pattern of the quilt at 9-10 teeny stitches per inch -- absolutely QUILTED TO DEATH -- this seamstress of the era was really showing off her skills -- everything nicely-executed, while still maintaining a GREAT primitive FOLK-ART personality -- PERFECT for country farmhouse decors, folded and laid across your bed, a wonderful "stacker" for your quilt cabinet, or CELEBRATED by displaying on the wall as a great piece of true TEXTILE ART! -- selling this quilt AS IS -- only POOR to FAIR condition for its age and many will consider this CUTTER condition -- for actual use (after some TLC and cleaning), display, museum study piece, or TEXTILE ART -- as mentioned above, the green has faded to tan -- the red and cheddar are mostly still VIBRANT -- age spots/stains, and surface soil scattered across the quilt, some watermarks and light scuffmarks -- most look like they will lift, but will leave all cleaning decisions up to the new owner -- the quilt is very worn -- there are small rips/tears, frays, worn/shattered spots scattered across the quilt -- no other issues to report -- still a great old piece of textile history! -- a true collector's piece.....and the price is right!
