A large and wonderful, original 1930-40s era metal Art Deco Lamp. This particular Impish looking ' Diana' style lady lamp was a local (Australian) made lamp I believe and comes in several metals and finishes, different bases styles etc. Never in my days however have I ever seen an anodized example- the first I`ve ever seen in this shimmering red finish, applied in an electrolysis technique. The base is a plain spun aluminium but with a heavier cast metal ballast fitted within the base....The lamp has its original bayonet style globe fitting and nice Retro era woven sheath on the lead to the Bakelite plug. All original however appears in safe and yes fully working condition.The brass globe fitting is a little loose in the upper gallery- it sits in place just fine however, but you could add a nut to the underside to secure it further. Otherwise just needs a glass globe style round shade to complete the lamp!Vintage condition so expect some surface wear, light knocks and bumps. The lamp stands 39cm to the top of the Gallery.
