ABOUT MY FILM COLLECTIBLESI am often asked where I get my movie collectibles. First and foremost, I am not an "expert"in film memorabilia, I am a fan and a collector. I make no claim of provenance other than myown affirmation that I have always purchased and collected these items with theunderstanding that they were authentic originals. To be clear, "authentic" and"original" means that they were, to the best of my knowledge, produced to be shown in theaters, and are not unofficial reproductions. I do not claim that these are from"first runs", and in many cases my films are from re-releases (when dealingwith film remnants, it is often very difficult or impossible to determine the releasedate, although age can often by estimated by the condition and coloration ofthe film).I have collected (and continue to acquire wherever I can)movie film over several years. I purchase most on eBay or at flea markets or yardsales. Some are from full film reels, some from partials and remnants, and some from trailers and previews. I have myown collection of 5-frame pieces (from more than 100 Disney, Sci-fi & Superheromovies) that I keep for myself. I listthe others on eBay to support my “habit”! I actually don’t always know all thedetails about every scene, so I am afraid I cannot always provide"provenance".
