This is a very nice Vintage Antique Wooden Egg Carrier, crate or box. The advertising says “TAKE YOUR EGGS TO JOHNSON & KING, WOLCOTT. . N.Y” it appears on the front and one side. The Type on The lid reads “FARMERS FRIEND PAT. AUG. 30. 1898. This crate comes with it’s top. Many on eBay do not. The metal lifting handle is intact and functional.It appears as if the interior of the box was painted orange perhaps sometime in the past.The handle on the full crate is intact too. The ...exterior measurements are: 11” tall Interior opening 11 7/8” squareFront to back 12 1/2” with handle 15 1/2”Side to side 13 1/2”Lid 11 1/2” square This is a great crate from Upstate NY. Wolcott is a small town a few miles inland from Port Bay, off of Lake Ontario. It lies on old Rt104.It comes with 20 paper/cardboard egg trays.This is a great addition to any collection.
